Knowledge belongs to Humanity - MOOC Massive Open Online Courses

“My Lord, increase me in knowledge.” [Qur'an, 20:114]

The Prophet also said: "Acquire knowledge and impart it to the people." - Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 107 

I remember one of the famous quote about knowledge that Knowledge is the missing property of a Momin (A true Muslim), wherever you find it, acquire it.

Purpose behind the long motivational intro is to inform you about the courses being offered online for free on different subjects mainly in computer science currently but this is just the beginning, these are the real courses taught at the top universities in the world.

I attended one of the 3 experimental courses offered in October. Introduction to Databases and i loved the way of teaching and their thirst to transfer knowledge to the developed and developing countries students and knowledge seekers at the convenience of their home and on their own pace.

The Points i noticed were

unlike other free online courses available on internet, this series of courses have weekly assignments, quizzes while attending lectures, mid-term exam throughout the course duration and a final exam to evaluate the knowledge of the course gain by the student.
